Wikipedia Goes POD With Book Creation Tool From PediaPress

Wikipedia, the online open-source encyclopaedia, have entered the world of POD (print on demand) books with the launch of a user book creation tool. Visitors to Wikipedia’s site will now be able to build a book using the book creation tool by selecting online articles, categories, pages or links. The user can then decide on the layout of the book’s content, change article names, chapter headings etc. A basic cover photo gallery is available from PediaPress, a media software development company, who will have the book printed and shipped within two to three business days. Users who create a book can alternatively download a PDF file of the book. Book pricing will start at $8.90.

“Combine the advantages of up-to-date and in-depth knowledge with the convenience of printed books. Books are typeset and printed on demand based on your personal selection. Starting from US$ 8.90 you get your unique book and support the Wikimedia Foundation.”
