Self-Publishing Book Expo NY 2010, Confirmed

Self-Publishing Book Expo (SPBE) has been confirmed for a second year and looks set to become an annual event on the publishing industry calendar. This year’s event will again take place at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, 811 Seventh Avenue on October 2nd, with sponsorship from Lulu, Greenleaf Book Group, Smashwords, Outskirts Press and Bowker.
SPBE founders Diane Mancher and Karen Mender intend establishing the annual event as the premiere book event for self-published authors and companies, and to making it a successful and profitable experience for all concerned. With over 50 years of combined publishing experience, Mancher and Mender bring a vast knowledge of the industry and a wide network of resources and contacts with traditional publishers, editors, agents, and media.
The year’s exhibit has been expanded to include a total of sixteen panels covering discussions on social networking sites, getting a book into brick ‘n’ mortar stores, how to use front-end planning and achieve long-term book profits, media targeting, cover design and illustration, and much more. This year will see the introduction of one-on-one manuscript evaluation services and the general public will be allowed entry to the exhibit floor free of charge. Pre-registration to the panels and seminars is available from the Self-Publishing Book Expo website.
The total number of exhibitors will be in excess of the 120 at last year’s event, with FastPencil, Wattpad, Smashwords, and the Greenleaf Book Group already definitely confirmed. Over the following months further exhibitors and guest speakers will continue to be added to the event line up.
